How to Protect the Family in the Summer Heat: 9 Rules for MomsSummer is a time for vacations and carefree pastime. But this does not mean that you can relax. At least not we - women. We are responsible for our family, so even in the summer, we must be ready for everything.
According to statistics, the number of accidents increases in the summer - on the water, associated with fire and the use of poor-quality food. Keeping this information in mind, we have compiled a list of the main dangers that await us in the heat of the summer, and ways to combat them. Nine Essential Rules for Moms 1. Do not leave the child unattended near the water At the pond or by the sea - it makes no difference - if the child is near water, you must keep an eye on them. Literally - fix the view on your child every 10-20 seconds. The same applies to the pool in a country house, in which you definitely need to flush the water after every use. 2. Do not leave the child in a locked car Do not close the child in the car at the bus stops while traveling with the family. A locked vehicle acts as a battery of superheated air: the child may simply suffocate. Regardless of whether you go out for 5 minutes or half an hour - take the child with you or leave another adult family member with the child. 3. Do not forget about sunscreen You can sunbathe without the risk of burning until 11 am and after 5 pm. To avoid sunburns and skin cancer, use a sunscreen with an index appropriate for your region. For yourself and for the family. 4. Use sunglasses Ultraviolet has a negative effect on the retina. The eye doctors state that it is important to protect the eyes with dark glasses that do not transmit radiation. This is especially important near the water, which reflects the sun's rays and gives glare. 5. Control the quality of food that your family consumes In the summer heat, food spoils much faster. As a rule, cook it for one or a maximum of two ingestions. And immediately put in the fridge any meal you don’t eat. Dairy products (milk, cottage cheese, and so on), cream pastry, meat products, and fish get spoiled the quickest. They often cause the most severe poisoning. Give the children bottled mineral water or boil raw water. 6. Install children's rides strictly according to the instructions Install the children's rides strictly according to the instructions and keep a close eye on the child/children on the playground. Prefabricated rides, swings, etc. must be assembled by a master or a person who has at least some knowledge of building structures. You don’t want the swing to fall apart and “drop” the child. 7. Use bonfires wisely In the summer we often go to the BBQ- and come out with burns. The first rule on the barbeque: never pour liquid for igniting the fire on the smoking cinder! It is used for the sole purpose: to kindle a fire from dry wood or coal but never to make the flame bigger! 8. Watch the amount of consumed water It is necessary to observe the water balance of the body to avoid dehydration and heat stroke. Make sure that the household drinks enough water, especially children who forget to do this without a reminder. 9. Do not throw lit coals or cigarettes out on the ground In dry summer weather the risk of fires increases many times, so the fire that you make in nature, you need to watch with both eyes. For smokers, it’s recommended to make an ashtray out of tin to avoid burning the grass. Always put out the fire when you leave the picnic.
