Maple View Agricultural Educational Center is a non profit, educational facility, designed to encourage both children and adults to learn about agricultural life through hands on experience. MVAEC strives to educate visitors about the benefits of sustainable agriculture and farm life. Strong agricultural philosophies are the foundation for our educational programs. The 6,000 sq. ft. facility offers a gathering area capable of accommodating up to 120 individuals. MVAEC features four interactive learning labs, providing the perfect opportunity for students to use all of their senses through hands-on education.

Allison Nichols graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 with a degree in Sociology and Social, Economic & Political Justice. Allison completed her Master's in Education in 2007. She taught kindergarten in Durham County before returning to work full time at Maple View.

Allison's idea for the learning center was derived from her teaching experience and her love of agriculture. Growing up on a farm, Allison realized the importance of science education and agricultural awareness and felt the need to develop the center to promote sustainable agriculture as well as conservation practices for not just students but for adults.

Allison, with the help of her staff, coordinates all educational programs for the center and aligns them with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study in Science.
