Carl Ellspermann started his practice in June of 1977. In October of 2007, Ellspermann & Harris partnership was formed. We are committed to providing outstanding professional service to our clients and to the community.

Our clients come to us with intimate knowledge of their personal and financial lives. We meet our client's expectations with appropriate professional skills. We view our role as spending enough time to know and understand our client's lives and to interpret how their history alters their financial and tax positions.

Carl Ellspermann, CPA

Carl received his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Banking and Finance from the University of Florida.

After becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1974, Carl established the firm in 1977 that has been in Ocala for 33 years.

Various college level courses have been taught including economics, accounting, and insurance income tax issues. Panel memberships include the Chamber of Commerce, Central Florida Community College, and local Chapter of the Florida Institute of Public Accounting.

Past Community involvement include President of the Kiwanis Club of Ocala, Chairman of the Marion County Hospital District Trustee, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Munroe Regional Health Systems, Chairman of the Health Care Advisory Committee during the establishment of the Community Health Care Clinic, board member of ARC Ocala, and task force of the Chamber of Commerce for rate review recommendations to the Public Service Commission, former school board member of Blessed Trinity School, facilitator to the youth group activities, instructor for new members into the Catholic Church, and Board of Directors of Trinity Villas.

In Carl's career, there has been an emphasis in facilitating business structures, negotiation, and succession planning. Estate and Gift tax planning, income tax audit issues, establishment and monitoring of retirement plans, and review of proposed investment plans, and litigation services particularly in domestic issues have been the most satisfying professional endeavors.

Joanne (Jo) Harris, CPA

Jo was hired in May 1988. She received a Master of Accounting from University of Florida on December 18, 1999, Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Florida on December 19, 1998 and a Bachelor of Science (Business) from Nova University on June 30, 1993. She became a Certified Public Accountant on February 15, 2001 and was made partner on October 1, 2007.

Jo is currently involved in several Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce committees. She is the Treasurer of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of Directors of Independent Living for Retarded Adults. She is the Horse Coordinator for the Friends of the Christmas Parade. She is an active member of Central Christian Church of Ocala. She is involved with the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville. She has previously been involved with the United Way of Marion County, Zonta Club of Ocala, and the American Cancer Society.
