The new aluminium block Ford Racing Boss 351 forms the basis for new 427 board engines. Although for some time Ford Motor Company has not provided a V-8 pushrod engine in a car, Ford Racing continues to meet the requirements of enthusiasts and racers who long for traditional Blue Oval power.

The latest offering is a 427-cubic-inch box engine, which stirs up warm feelings to the legendary monster of the FE series, driving some of the most powerful Ford machines of the Total Perfection era. In fact, the new engine is based on a Windsor-style small-block and uses the new aluminium block "Z351" from Ford Racing itself on high-quality 356-T6 casting with cast-iron cylinder sleeves and four-bolt main caps; the block does not weigh more than 126 pounds, despite its strength.
