Ankrom Moisan Architects, Inc.
Our History
Architects Stewart Ankrom and Tom Moisan formed Ankrom Moisan in 1983 to provide integrated architectural, interior design, and urban design services to our clients. The mission of Ankrom Moisan is simple: Create Places Where People and Communities Thrive. We believe that when we achieve this, we help our clients achieve success.
We are now a national firm with 150 staff members and offices in Portland and Seattle. Our portfolio includes award-winning mixed-use housing, condominiums, apartments, affordable housing, senior housing, student housing, healthcare, offices, hospitality, and retail. Much of our work is in urban environments and many of our projects include a mix of uses.
Our Mission
Create Places Where People and Communities Thrive.
Architecture: the art of human interaction.
Whether it is at the scale of a dynamic city, a building complex, or a cozy interior space, Ankrom Moisan Architects, Inc., creates places where people and communities thrive. Collaborative by nature and innovative by design, our work responds to the evolving demands of an ever-changing world.
Ideas drive our work. When a client asked us to develop a new model for senior housing we worked with them to create The Mirabella, a modern, LEED Platinum, urban high-rise that appeals to sophisticated adults and just happens to provide a full continuum of state-of-the-art healthcare to its residents.
When the city of Los Angeles codes didn't permit the kind of pedestrian-oriented design that we envisioned for two new housing projects, we worked with the city to rewrite their codes. After Luma and Elleven were completed, the Mayor declared that all future development in the city should aspire to the same level of design.
On all of our projects, the focus of our practice is design that supports the myriad forms of human interaction. Our work has been recognized with national and international design awards, but our true reward is seeing how architecture can enhance people's lives.
